This Cookie Policy explains what cookies and similar technologies SalonRadar uses, why we use them, and how you can manage your preferences. It supplements our Privacy Policy.
What is a cookie
A cookie is a small text file stored by your browser when you visit a website. Cookies let the site recognise your device on subsequent visits, remember your preferences, and keep you signed in. Similar technologies such as localStorage and session storage serve comparable purposes and we treat them the same way here.
Cookies we set
Strictly necessary
These cookies are essential for the Platform to function. They cannot be switched off.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
| -------------------- | ------------------------------------- | -------- |
| salonradar_session | Maintains your signed-in session | Session |
| XSRF-TOKEN | Cross-site request forgery protection | Session |
| salonradar_locale | Remembers your language choice | 365 days |
Functional
These cookies remember choices you make to improve your experience.
| Cookie | Purpose | Duration |
| ------------------ | ------------------------------------ | -------- |
| salonradar_theme | Remembers light/dark mode preference | 365 days |
Third-party
We rely on a small number of third parties to operate the Platform. Cookies they set are governed by their own policies:
- Stripe — sets cookies during checkout for fraud prevention. See stripe.com/legal/cookies-policy.
- Google — only if you choose to sign in with Google, the OAuth handshake briefly uses Google's authentication cookies on accounts.google.com.
Analytics
SalonRadar uses Plausible Analytics, a privacy-friendly analytics service hosted in the European Union. Plausible sets no cookies and stores no persistent identifier, so we do not ask for your consent to use it. It counts page views, referrers and the country a visit came from, and on salon pages it also records which salon was viewed. SalonRadar itself uses no Google Analytics, Facebook Pixel, or comparable cross-site trackers; individual salons may add their own, which is covered below.
Salon analytics and advertising tags
Some salon pages show a consent banner for that salon's own analytics or advertising tags. Nothing from those tags is loaded before you accept — no script is fetched and no cookie is set. Your choice is stored per salon in the salonradar_consent cookie for 6 months, so accepting for one salon never turns tracking on for another.
If you accept, the salon's Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager and Meta (Facebook) Pixel tags may set the following third-party cookies. None of them is set before you accept on that salon's pages:
| Cookie | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
| ---------------------- | ---------------------------- | ------------------------------------------------ | -------- |
| _ga | Google Analytics | Distinguishes visitors for Google Analytics | 2 years |
| _ga_<container-id> | Google Analytics | Keeps the Google Analytics session state | 2 years |
| _gid | Google Analytics | Distinguishes visitors across a single day | 24 hours |
| _gcl_au | Google Tag Manager | Attributes conversions for tags in the container | 90 days |
| _fbp | Meta (Facebook) Pixel | Identifies a browser for Meta advertising | 90 days |
| _fbc | Meta (Facebook) Pixel | Stores the ad click that led to the visit | 90 days |
A salon's Google Tag Manager container may load further tags the salon configures itself; those tags are covered by the same consent and are the salon owner's responsibility.
The salon owner, not SalonRadar, is the controller for the data those tags collect. You can withdraw consent at any time by deleting the salonradar_consent cookie in your browser.
Managing cookies
You can manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you block or delete cookies, and to clear local storage. Blocking strictly-necessary cookies will prevent the Platform from working — you will not be able to sign in or place bookings.
